IDEX builds partnerships to overcome economic and social injustice. They work toward people's greater control of their resources, political structures, and economic processes that affect their lives. They supports small scale, community-based development efforts. To help overseas communities gain greater access to information, support, and resources as well as to inform and educate others, IDEX establishes educational partnerships between schools, community groups, and individuals in the U.S. with sponsored communities in our partner countries. They foster an awareness of the issues faced by communities overseas through teacher training, curriculum development, work in public and privates school classrooms, and an extensive volunteer program
