About us: media matters is a non-profit trust working in the area of community development and development communication for the past seven years now. the organization works in the urban slums of thane with groups of children, women, adolescent girls and youth on rights based issues.

Vision: an improved quality of life, equity and equality at all levels in society.

Mission: Facilitating equity, equality and empowerment through participation at all levels in the development process.

Services: design and development of communication material, workshops and training programmes, research and process documentation, community outreach programmes, networking and advocacy efforts on rights based issues.

Impact: 5000 children have been reached out to as part of our development communication initiative and community development initiative.

History: Began as a performing youth group in the year 1996, got registered in year 1998 as a non-profit trust. worked on issues related to gender, child rights, life skills with adolescent girls and youth for development. currently, nodal organization for kalyan childline. also implementing the child domestic work project in thane corporation. the organization is also registered under FCRA and holds the 80G.

. Motivating people especially youth and adolescents from different sectors to participatory social development processes

What is it that you exactly do for a beneficiary?: let's use the old chinese proverb: "if you give a man a fish, he'll survive for a day. teach him how to fish and he will survive a lifetime."

How can you work with others? :
- WITH NGOS: partnerships through workshops and design of communication material for thier project interventions.
- WITH SCHOOLS: workshops with teachers, children and parent groups.
- WITH ROTARIES: collaboration as a funding partner in supporting communication for development initiatives with adolescent girls and children
- WITH GOVT: partnerships through traning programmes and design and development of area and issue specific communication material.
- WITH CORPORATES: we would be interested in a partnership/collaboration that enables us to support the capacity building program and audio visual resource unit of our organization .
