Mission: To empower people by providing them with the information they need to promote their health , and prevent and treat medical problems in the family in partnership with their doctor.

Services:
• Airconditioned reading rooms, with a seating capacity for 20-25 people
• An uptodate collection of over 5000 consumer health books, 10000 pamphlets, and many magazines and newsletters
• Audiovisual educational media, including over 600 videotapes. Videos can be viewed in privacy in the library
• Computer software , including over 30 CD-ROMs on all health and medical topics
• Photocopying facilities, at Re 1 a page
• Can work with corporates, NGOs, etc. Can show them the library. A visit would take 15 minutes
• Impact: Help about 5000 patients every year with health information

History: HELP - the Health Education Library for People, was established in 1997 . It is India's first Consumer Health Education Resource Center and have grown to become one of the world's largest
consumer health libraries ( as determined by the Medical Library Association, USA )
