Vision: Such a
vibrant city, yet such waste of resources in a manner that
air, land and sea is getting poisoned. Then wasted
time, ideas, efforts, lives, this must be utilised for
creating a life of celebration that we all deserve.
Mission:
Bringing change in the statutory organisation that affects
our lives from birth to death - the Municipal
Corporation of Greater Mumbai.
Services:
Education, demonstration and training to civic employees and
organised citizen groups or organisations, on new ways to
look at transformation of wasted organics, to bring health
and prosperity.
History:
M.C.G.M. and leading citizen's asked me to start this centre
after hearing my solutions to the burgeoning garbage
crisis, just after the SURAT PLAGUE. 1993 activity started
for Army, Navy, Railways and M.C.G.M.
Achievements:
Adequate demonstration made to society that easy and cheap
solutions are now available to solve the artificial crisis
created by unimaginative and un-ecological disposal of
organic wastes.
What is it that you
exactly do for a beneficiary?: My intended
beneficiary is the M.C.G.M. I'm running this project
in the hope that they adopt these easy practices and new
ideas, not only to solve the organic waste and caused
pollution problem, but also to create resources and
medicines from the same, for transformation of our rural
areas, which are our support for the food we eat and the
water we drink.
How can you work with
others? : Can give slide shows and have interactive
sessions to provoke new ways of thinking, to solve the
artificial problems of `waste management`
Financials:
Yearly Budget: Rs. 12 Lakhs
Revenue Sources: Reimbursement from M.C.G.M. for
transporting organics to the municipal project site, and
sale of `compost product`, training charges, consultancy
charges.
