'Look into Your Eyes in The Mirror
and Say that you do not care for the Blind'
Impact of Blindness is overwhelming both on the life of the
individual as well as society. Every tenth Indian has impairment
of vision, declare official statistics. Many blind persons have
overcome blindness because of effective education and rehabilitation
intervention.
Association for blindness and low vision is a nation-wide initiative
for coping with vision impairment. It conducts research studies
& training programs for improving the quality of life of
the visually challenged.
The Association proposes to bring out professional publication
for persons working in this helping profession. ABLV takes up
important issues impacting the lives of blind people with the
government and media. Development of resource material
is yet another mandate of ABLV. There are some 500 NGOs in this
sector. Association for Blindness & Low Vision offers
the backing in project formulation, HRD, library research, networking
etc.
