dear vinay: I am in cannes, fully intending to give my mind in the next ten days to cinema, far from hawkers, talkers and workers transforming mumbai - tonight is the press screening (I'm covering for the "times," three despatches) of the world premiere of "the da vinci code" - thereafter, more of the same - can you blame me? but here are two or three comments on the comments that the NGO council seems to have received - they are extraordinarily detailed and systematised - I'm sure the SC should not come into most of the details set out there - from whom have you received these comments and suggestions? a list would add weight to what is being suggested - also they seem to re-open what I thought the SC had long ago settled - about how to take the hawker matter forward with AGNI, I for one have no doubts about, and complete faith in, any positions that citispace adopts - I am a part of the outfit, as it happens - the best, gerson da cunha
