I am coming to Mumbai on December 15th. I have collected lots of school supplies such as crayons, coloring books, pencils, stencils, staples, notebooks, etc.( A huge suitcase full):) I wanted to bring them to the children I worked with at the Akanksha Foundation. I have found out that the facility that I worked at is no longer running. (Spastic Society at Navi Nagar). I am an American woman just stopping for 10 days on my way to meet my family for the holidays. I am looking for a needy school or orphanage to donate these supplies to, and thought you might be able to direct me. I am very familiar with Mumbai and the Indian cultures, as I came for 3 months on my last visit, and have been there many times. I would also very much like to volunteer my experience during my stay, even though it is such a short visit. If you could put me in contact with an organazation that could use 10 days of my full time, and some supplies, I would be most appreciative. (I am particuarly interested in working with babies/children/women) I will be staying at the YWCA in Colaba from December 15th until the 24 th.
