LIST
OF PENDING PROBLEMS WITH BMC,
M/WEST
PESTOM
SAGAR CITIZENS FORUM (Regd) / Councillor :
Even
though we openly express our satisfaction at the co-operation we
receive from M/Ward Officers; still there are some pending problems,
not minor but major ones.
I explain the same as follows:
1)
Erratic supply of water to Road No.1 &
2 – the concerned Engineers are aware of it and although they visited,
wrote letters to us informing about solving the problems; but due
to unknown reasons, water pressure is very low.
In the past, due to our persistent reporting, some unauthorised
water sucking pumps were unearthed.
If water flow is proper for four days, there is shortage
for next four days . This
erratic problem has become perennial.
2)
Water logging in Road No.1 during monsoons and reverse flow
of water. Our continued
follow up with BMC/ MMRDA/ AMC (City), etc. brought an assurance
now that by 15th May 06, a temporary water outlet
will be constructed. We
require that this should be ensured; as otherwise; all the ground
floor residents will be affected heavily like 26/7 putting the residents
into estimated losses of more than Rs. 2 crores; the account of
which is with the Forum supplied by all the residents; and Forum
took up the matter with Maharashtra Legal Services Authority.
3)
Pestom Sagar Gymkhana caretaker agreement
pending. As per the
NOC dt.18.7.2003 issued for construction of a Gymkhana adm.1000
sq.ft in an unutilized triangle of the Citizens Ground where Jogging
Track is created; the Forum, with the help of MPLAD/MLA funds sanctioned
by Shri Gurudas Kamat and Shri Chandrakant Handore; constructed
Gymkhana through designated Agency MHADA.
The Gymkhana is now ready for inauguration. However,
the M/Ward authorities are yet to complete the formalities despite
our continuous follow-ups.
4)
Mushrooming growth of roadside open garages
in Road No.1, 4, & 6

5)
I am a member of Pestom Sagar Citizen Forum. I would like to express
one of my concerns regarding a Public Toilet at the Amar Mahal Traffic
Signal which creates lot of traffic congestion hindering the movement
of pedestrians as well during the peak hours. If this could be relocated
a few yards away from the BEST bus stop on the highway, it would
prove beneficial for all.
