Brief on CHILDLINE India Foundation

Childline India Foundation (CIF) is a non-profit organization that implements CHILDLINE, a 24-hour emergency helpline for children in crisis situations. With a network of over 160 partner organizations in 66 cities/districts in India , CIF works towards bridging gaps in child protection service delivery and advocates nationally and internationally for child friendly systems and policy. Program Coordinator

Policy, Research, Advocacy and Documentation Unit

Location

Mumbai

Role Description:

  • In charge of CHILDLINE Publications – compile information from all departments, edit and ensure printing.
    • Bimonthly Newsletters in English (organize translation into Hindi)
    • Annual Report
  • Coordinating action research on areas of concern with regard to children
  • Maintaining and revising in-house documentation formats - CHILDLINE Intervention case-sheet etc.
  • Compiling issue based reports and articles using CHILDLINE data
  • Dissemination of data and statistical information
  • Coordinating the networking efforts of CIF
  • Organising issue based trainings and workshops for CHILDLINE – for instance an upcoming workshop on ‘Trafficking of Children’ to be held in October 2005.

Skills

The candidate must have:

  1. Good computer skills
  2. Good communications skills
  3. Have a good command over the English language
  4. Work well in a team.
  5. Willing to take on additional tasks if required

Required Work Experience

The candidate should be post-graduate from the field of social work, human development, child development, mass communication, journalism or such related fields.

The candidate should have atleast 2 years work experience in research, documentation, social welfare etc.
