Almeida Park is best garden


Almeida Park beat over 15 BMC gardens in the medium-size garden category of the recently-concluded Clean Mumbai Green Mumbai competition conducted in the city.

Says Jayant Tipnis, chairman, Green Mumbai Clean Mumbai Mayor's Committee, who inspected the Park on Feb 2. "Parks were judged on the basis of cleanliness, management and greenery.

Almeida Park won because of its cleanliness, its well-maintained vermiculture pits and number of trees and plants." Factors like clean benches and the health of trees were also taken into account.
