You are fully aware of the natural calamity which gripped practically the whole of Maharashtra State , in which Mumbai city and its suburbs as well as Panvel and other Talukas in Raigad District had to suffer the major losses of precious lives. We at Sanatan Ashram at Devad have suffered a lot in kind. Our losses were in the nature of food grains, electronic items like computers, all the essential materials stored in the godowns including food grains, cooking oil, kerosene, gas cylinders, as well as cement and other construction hardware materials which washed away in the spate of river "Gadhi" on whose bank our Sanatan Ashram is situated at Panvel with its 164 inmates sadhaks. These Sadhaks had to suffer tremendous mental and physical trauma which is persisting in the minds of all the Sanatan Sadhaks till date, who were totally cut of from the main stream of the society for nearly one week without potable drinking water and the much needed food and electricity.  

The total estimated loss is around 25 lacs for which we urgently require financial help from benevolent citizens of India, and we are sure through your good offices our Sanatan Sanstha will be able to procure the help. With the help Sanatan  once again will be able stand on its feet to serve the nation and impart the righteousness by continuing its daily Sanatan Prabhat news paper.  Due to emergency the office of Sanatan Prabhat was shifted to a temporary place so as to continue the publication of newspaper and thus serve the general public and its regular readers.  

Our Sanatan Sanstha has been rendering yeomen service of humanity by imparting training to the able bodied youngsters in Judo-Karate. It also imparts training in welding, computer hardware, automobile repairs as well as in the field of cooking etc, all free of costs.  

May we add here, Sir, that government is currently helping only families with Free Kerosene, Rice etc. and Cash of Rs 1000 per head but there is no provision to help Sanstha's like ours who came in the grip of unfortunate natural calamity and therefore our this appeal to you, Sir.  

We take this opportunity to bring to your kind attention that our Sanstha will welcome all the help in the form of material, hardware etc. for which we have attached a list.  For those who want to contribute generously  in cash / cheque drawn in favour of Panvel Sanatan Sanstha we will offer 80G income tax certificate and the receipt which may please be noted.
