An NGO Coordinating Committee was formed on August 4, 2005, by the Municipal Commissioner Mr. Johny Joseph. Thereafter on August 22, 2005 an NGO Council was formed. BMC signed an MOU with the NGO Council on December 12, 2005. BMC is now involving the NGO Council and other Civic Society Organisations while preparing a comprehensive Disaster Management Plan.
