response to Vinay's observations on the High Court order pertaining to Stray Dogs

[My responses in brackets below. Vinay]

Vinay,

I thought Karmayog is a platform for betterment of NGOs' work and a meeting point where one NGO can support the others  work. But from your mail it seems  Karmayog is trying to become an opinion forming body wherein other NGOs will express their misplaced information and opinion on the issue of animal welfare and run down those working for animals.

[That is not my intent. I apologise if that is what has got conveyed by my comments. I have great respect for all the fine work that NGOs do. Vinay]

You are accusing Animal Welfare Bodies that we have got into this sterilization program program to make revenue? Let me tell you that perhaps we are the only NGOs where most of us are in it for sheer love of animals and end up spending on them from our own pockets. Even before the sterilization program started, we were doing our bit in our vicinity with regards to sterilization and immunization.

[I understand. It was a thought, not an accusation. Pl treat my statement as withdrawn. In fact, WSD says that it has not received any amount from BMC for sterilisation. Is that also the case with all the other NGOs? Why? Vinay]

-----
Are we doing a less important job than other NGOs? Do you equate our work with garbage or are we Harijans? I an very upset with what I have read in your mail and wish to be out from Karmayog group with immediate effect.

[You'll are not doing a less important job than any other NGO. I certainly do not feel that. I don't think others feel that too. I understand that you are upset and I appreciate your having conveyed it to me. Pl don't be upset with me. It doesn't serve a purpose. The issue is not about AWOs. It is about BMC failing to have an effective sterilisation program. They should fund it properly. Pl attend the meeting with BMC on the 6th. Else pl ensure that someone from an AWO does. My feeling is that no one will. I don't think that's the way that citizen issues should be treated.

Pl do continue to remain with the yahoo group. Thanks and regards, Vinay]
