All product
packages should have waste disposal method symbol
All products should carry symbols for the following on their packages
regarding method of disposal after use.
1. if biodegradable
2. if recyclable (the three arrow circular triangular symbol)
3. if hazardous and thus to be disposed separately (skull and bones?)
4. if in bio-medical category of waste disposal
5. if not in any of the above, then to be classified as non-recyclable.
Please suggest symbols for the following so that we can urge BMC /
State Govt / Central Govt to impose this just as has been done for
veg / non-veg.
Please also give your opinion about the idea, it's practical feasibility,
it's need, pros and cons, whether done by any other country, the various
reasons why manufacturers will oppose, with what products this can
be begun, etc.
