Example of suggested LACG boundaries in Councillor Ward 3
‘A’ Ward, there are 4 Councillor Wards.
Councillor Ward No. 3, 8
Local Area Citizen Groups have been proposed.
main arterial roads define the boundaries of the LACG
such as the type of users has been used to demarcate the LACGs.
For e.g.; LACG No.7 includes the Business District of Nariman
Point, whose users would be having common concerns and issues to
be addressed which would be different from LACG No. 4, which is
the Colaba Tourist District, which would have its own unique
of these LACGs may contain within it one or more ALMs or RWAs such
as the Fort Residents Welfare Association, the Nariman Point
Churchgate Association, the Oval Cooperage Residents Association,
the Colaba Tourist Destination Association (CTDA), etc.
Similarly, issues pertaining
to ‘Nodes’ (e.g. Churchgate Station) will be resolved jointly
by all LACGs in which part of the Node falls. A node such as
Churchgate station falls at the boundary of not only two LACGs but
also 2 Councillor Wards. Such nodes will require their own
specific methodologies of working and problem solving, with all of
the concerned LACGs working together, based on the specific
characteristics and requirement of the site.
